The "American Idol" Top 8 women took to the stage where Crystal Bowersox punched her ticket to the Top 12 and Lacey Brown and Didi Benami finally showed why they are here.
The Highlights: Lacey Brown and Didi Benami finally put their quirky voices to good use. Their choices of "The Story" and "Rhiannon," respectively, were brilliant. They may have sung their way back into the Top 12.
The Lowlights: Katie Stevens still can't figure it out. She has a tremendous instrument and no idea what to do with it. Paige Miles also had a really rough week and that coupled with the issue we addressed last week plus the fact that she had little to no screen time before the Top 24 means she is most likely going home.
The Lights: Katelyn Epperly was in good shape last week but her milquetoast effort this week should have her scared, while I am left to wonder what Simon Cowell was thinking after Siobhan Magnus. She gave a straight-up beautiful vocal, but Cowell was critical. Lilly Scott wasn't my personal favorite but the judges gave her good critiques and she should be safe.
Why no mention of Crystal Bowersox? This marks her third good week in a row -- she's the only one who has absolutely punched her ticket to the Top 12. |

this is business man, a lot of thing in their mind, jika asyik di puji sahaja, maka orang akan berfikir mungkin kedudukan peserta tu dah kukuh, padahal untuk mengukuhkan peserta tu adalah undian..
so, silap haribulan, pujian tinggi melambung tapi undian sms xcukup..
xke rugi bagi dorang kalau tarikkan untuk american idol tu hilang nanti.. |

Simon Cowell confirms engagement to Mezhgan Hussainy on Jay Leno show
Tuesday, 9 March 2010
Simon Cowell blushed as he was grilled by Jay Leno about his relationship with Mezhgan Hussainy.
The X Factor judge admitted on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno that he had bought the American Idol make-up artist a ring.
Asked "Are rumours you're engaged true?", Simon replied: "Are they true? Well, I do have somebody in my life now, Jay, yes, and I kind of made a decision this year to make somebody happy."
Quizzing Simon about the ring Mezhgan has been pictured wearing on her wedding finger, Jay joked: "I thought she broke her arm."
Simon said: "It's quite a big one, yes."
Teased by Jay, Simon confessed: "I am blushing. I find this very uncomfortable. I was asleep, I think. No, look, I bought her the ring in London."
Jay spotted Mezhgan, 36, in the audience and invited her to come on stage to join Simon, 50, and the pair sat together looking loved-up.
When the chat show host asked if he would be invited to the wedding, Simon joked he could be a flower girl.
The music mogul said he wanted a wedding "in the next 10 years" and added: "I'm kind of torn because I'm a bit too old to have kids, but then again I think it would be important to have a lot of me's around in the future."

Simon Cowell's new girlfriend Mezghan Hussainy revealed
Love is in the air ... Mezhgan Hussainy and Simon Cowell are dating. Source: The Daily Telegraph
MEET Mezhgan Hussainy, the 36-year-old Afghani refugee make-up artistwho is now dating American Idol's most famous judge, Simon Cowell.
So how has she attracted the attention of Cowell, 50, widely held to be the world's most eligible bachelor?
Let'sstart by saying that Miss Hussainy is, very much like Cowell, not thekind of person to sell herself short, reports the Daily Mail.
Despitea complete lack of formal professional beauty qualifications, thesedays she likes to grandly describe herself as 'an icon in the make-upworld', even though her experience thus far is limited to making upcontestants in reality television and on game shows.
Check out Mezhgan's website here
No wonder, then, that she's attracted criticism in Hollywood for her breathtaking chutzpah and salesmanship.
But, like Cowell, Hussainy also knows how important it is to be the kind of person who makes waves.
Longbefore their romantic liaison took off, she tried as hard as she couldto excite media interest, making the cover of one magazine and meritingmentions in a dozen others.
Her ambitions certainly do not endthere. For, quite extraordinarily, I'm told that for some years nowHussainy has been trying to sell a feature-length documentary about herown life story, which she has given the working title: From AfghanistanTo American Idol. |

The Top 8 men were very middle-of-the-road (save Aaron Kelly, who was terrible) until Michael Lynche gave a ridiculously good performance to end the night.
The Highlights: ... I didn't have one until Michael Lynche. Not that they were all bad, but nobody was "WOW" until Lynche. He did very well on an incredibly hard song.
The Lowlights: Aaron Kelly needs to go. That vocal was painful. Also, Andrew Garcia's "Genie In a Bottle" didn't work at all, but we'll get into that in the longer recap.
The Lights: Casey James got back on track, even if he wasn't super. Tim Urban is 100% safe because he's the Cutest Boy in All the Land who has hung around while not doing very well. He finally gave a good performance, so his fans must be going crazy, even if on a sliding scale of "Hallelujah" performances it was utterly mediocre. Todrick Hall may have put himself back in the race with a great vocal on a hard song. |
