Betul tu.. dah 3 bulan di panggung, mula2 release di Korea 13 September dulu.. hari ni dah 14 Dec. Walaupun dah tak banyak screening, still orang tengok.

Anyway.. kita tunggu jelah nanti DVDnya keluar.. and links to be available later.

Entah2.. sempat tengok GI Joe: Retaliation keluar dulu.. in March 2013..

Lee wins 'Star of the Year' at CineAsia Awards in H.K.

Movie star Lee Byung-hun was selected as the “Star of the Year” at the 2012 CineAsia Awards in Hong Kong on Thursday.

Lee is the second Korean to receive the award following pop star Rain in 2007.

“I love challenging new things and have tried them without fear. But at the same time I am scared and alone. When I first knocked on Hollywood’s door I felt like I was left in a big sea without knowing what to do or where to go,” Lee said at the awards ceremony. The actor added that the award will give him the strength to carry on.

John Chu, who directed Lee’s U.S. film “G.I. Joe,” praised the actor as a “game changer.”

Lee, who debuted as a small-screen actor in 1991, rose to global stardom when he starred as storm-shadow in U.S. blockbuster “G.I. Joe” in 2009. Lee’s latest domestic film, “Masquerade,” became the third-highest grossing movie in history here with more than 12.3 million people having seen the period film.

Lee Byung Hun honored as 'Star of the Year' by CineAsia

By Korea Star Daily | Kpop Fighting

South Korean actor Lee Byung Hun attended the CineAsia 2012 Award Luncheon on December 13th held at Hong Kong's Grand Hyatt Hotel, where he was awarded the 'Star of the Year' honor, becoming the most popular film star of this year.

CineAsia which holds one of Asia's largest film industry-centered shows and exhibitions every December in Hong Kong, has always managed to attract production companies, high ranking film officials, industry experts, and more from all of Asia to participate. CineAsia is one of the 3 major film show and exhibitions in the world alongside CineEurope held every June in Barcelona, Spain, and ShowEast held every November in Florida, America.

Past winners of CineAsia's 'Star of the Year' honor went to Zhou Xun, Zhang Zi Yi, and Li Bing Bing respectively in the past 3 years. Rain became the first South Korean to win the honor in 2007 as he shared it with Chinese actress Tang Wei. With his film 'Masquerade' which was a box office success in South Korea with over 12 million admissions, coupled with his participation in Hollywood blockbusters like 'G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation' and 'Red 2' (currently filming), Lee Byung Hun was undoubtedly the most explosive film star of Asia in the year of 2012.

'G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation' director, Jon Chu, said of Lee Byung Hun, "He has great acting ability, and has great sense as an actor. I learnt what sense really is from him, and Lee Byung Hun is a very humane actor. Regardless of whatever role he gets, he is able to do it well. Even if it's an action film, Lee Byung Hun is able to add layers to his acting, and is definitely a top caliber actor in the film industry," before ending with the remark that Lee Byung Hun is the Tom Cruise of Asia.

The producer of 'G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation', Lorenzo Bonaventura, said, "He (Lee Byung Hun) is a film star that leaves Hollywood expecting, and is full of energy. He has been of great help to our filming, and has exceptional acting ability. The film trailer will give you a sneak preview of how impressive his acting is."

After receiving his award, Lee Byung Hun thanked everyone related to his new film and expressed, "I always love taking on new challenges and experience new things. But there are also times where I cower or retreat because of the uncertainty. It's akin to swimming alone in the ocean, with no direction and goals, so this award has given me a huge dose of confidence. I really want to thank the production team for giving me the opportunity to film 'G.I. Joe', and I will continue to greet everyone in future with good Hollywood and Asian films."

'G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation' is the sequel to 2009's 'G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra' and talks of the elite covert special mission unit G.I. Joe under Joe Colton taking on the 'Cobra' army led by Storm Shadow (Lee Byung Hun).

The new film sees the addition of a new villain called Zartan (Arnold Vosloo). Zartan impersonates the President of the United States, framing all G.I. Joe operatives as traitors to the United States, exterminating most of them and leaving just a group of survivors. The survivors band together and seeks to fight Zartan to the death to seek revenge.

'G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation' is scheduled for release on March 29th, 2013 in America.

Lee Byung Hun says work and love are equally important

By Korea Star Daily | Kpop Fighting

South Korea actor Lee Byung Hun was in Hong Kong on December 12th for a press conference held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, to promote his upcoming Hollywood blockbuster, 'G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation'.

When asked during the press conference on how does he find time for work and love (actress Lee Min Jung), Lee Byung Hun said bashfully, "Both are equally important." He added, "It has been an event-filled year for me, and we are almost coming to the end of 2012. I have filmed Hollywood films like 'G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation' and 'Red 2'. 'Masquerade' has also gotten lots of love from viewers, and I have also been busy with several fan meetings (stage greetings?), and trying to keep my earlier made promises. There are many things that have made me feel honored, and also happy moments. As an actor, you never know when you will experience a time like this again, so I am really thankful to everyone for the support."

Lee Byung Hun continued by saying, "Regardless of whether its work or my private life, it has been a really good year for me overall. Work and love are both equally important to me, and it's hard for me to choose between them. I am just grateful to have both of them."

'G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation' director Jon Chu who was sitting beside Lee Byung Hun then created some laughs by saying to him, "You should have said that 'G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation' was the most important thing."

Joe operatives as traitors to the United States, exterminating most of them and leaving just a group of survivors. The survivors band together and seeks to fight Zartan to the death to seek revenge.

'G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation' is scheduled for release on March 29th, 2013 in America.

Lee Byung Hun Says He Met with Psy and Park Ji Sung in London

CJ E&M enewsWorld Oh, MiJung Translation Credit: Erika Kim

Lee Byung Hun opened up about a staggering meeting between three global stars.

The actor spoke up about a meeting he had with Psy and soccer player Park Ji Sung in front of Korean press after winning the Star of the Year Award at the 2012 CineAsia Awards on December 13 in Hong Kong.

A series of paparazzi photos had showed that Psy and Lee Byung Hun had met back when the meeting happened, and their meeting alone made big issues for being one between the biggest Korean global stars in the world. It turns out, however, that soccer player Park Ji Sung, another big Korean star who plays in the Premier League, was also there.

Lee Byung Hun had been in London to film Red 2, and Psy had dropped by the city on his promotions around Europe. Park Ji Sung wasn′t playing a game that day due to an injury. The three decided that day to get together and grab a meal.

Lee Byung Hun said, "Because we three were all active in different areas, we were amazed while we talked about and listened to each other′s stories. We, of course, mostly talked about how Psy was great, though."

He said, "I worked out at a nearby gym when I was in London, and the gym there also played Gangnam Style. I told Psy that he′s really doing a great job."

Lee Byung Hun made another achievement of his own this day, and he said after receiving the Star of the Year Award at the 2012 CineAsia Awards, "I was fueled by this award when I was trying to get through a lonely and difficult challenge. I′ll make sure to work harder."

Hi naleeya, welcome!

Memang ramai yang suka All In walaupun dah nak 10 tahun cerita tu .. memang LBH memang sesuai sangat dengan siri tu, action+chemistry=win win. IRIS pun not too bad walaupun storyline predictable tapi acting-wise, saved the drama. Itu je yang best for IRIS, imo. Try tengok movies by Lee Byung Hun pulak. These days drama series dia tak banyak, he's more into movies.

Dir. Jon Chu: If there's ever an opportunity to work with BH again, I would do it in a second. I love that guy. He is amazing and creatively pushes me.

[12 Days of 2012] Top 5 Movies

CJ E&M enewsWorld Nancy Lee

Christmas is fast approaching, which means the New Year is just around the corner!

Although we’re looking forward to what 2013 has in store, we can’t close out 2012 without looking back on the stars, dramas, movies and more that shined this year, so we’re launching a new series here at enewsWorld, called 12 Days of 2012, to round up and reflect on one exciting year in Korean entertainment.

Stick around (and wish us luck) as we try to jam pack everything 2012 into 12 days!

We’re kicking off our countdown to 2013 with the top 5 films of 2012.

It was a particularly standout year for Korean films, where many domestic films across genres drew in record numbers of viewers with refreshing storylines and talented casts. From melodramas and romantic comedies to heist films and even period pieces, the Korean film landscape was colored with a wide range of features to satisfy every moviegoer’s taste.

Dancing Queen

The year was off to a great start thanks to the romantic comedy Dancing Queen, starring Hwang Jung Min and Uhm Jung Hwa, which opened in January.

Rave reviews for the underrated film drew moviegoers to theaters by means of word-of-mouth, enabling it to cross the 2.5 million mark within two weeks of its premiere.

The film was even released in North America, spreading its positive message about following your dreams (just because it’s cliché doesn’t meant it’s not true!) to cities like New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver and Toronto.

Architecture 101

We think it’s safe to say Architecture 101, starring Uhm Tae Woong, Han Ga In, miss A’s Suzy and Lee Je Hoon, was one of the runaway hits of 2012.

The melodrama proved to appeal to more than just its typical, largely female target audience, drawing in more than one million viewers within eight days of its release back in March, later becoming the most-watched melodrama in Korea.

Although Suzy rose to fame in the acting world with KBS drama Dream High, Architecture 101 proved to be the breakthrough film that would solidify her as one of the brightest young talents as well as the ‘Nation’s First Love’ and earn her the Best New Actress Award at the 48th Paeksang Arts Awards.

The Thieves

It appears if you graduate from Dream High, you go on to achieve great things, as another alum, Kim Soo Hyun, and his cast mates found astounding success with heist film The Thieves, which was released in July.

The action comedy, which stars A-listers like Jun Ji Hyun, Lee Jung Jae and Kim Hye Soo, was out to do some serious damage from the outset, smashing the record for the biggest opening in Korean film history.

As of August, it was the number one film of the year, drawing in more than five million moviegoers to theaters in August, before hitting the 10 million mark later that month.

The Thieves definitely stole the show this year, that’s for sure.

Masquerade

From Los Angeles to London, the world’s eyes were on Lee Byung Hun—and not because of his budding romance with actress Lee Min Jung.

The globetrotting star of Masquerade has received worldwide attention, not only for his successful foray into Hollywood but for his portrayal of the Joseon Dynasty king Gwanghae in the period piece.

The film swept the 49th Daejong Film Awards, taking home 15 awards, including Lee Byung Hun’s Best Actor Award.

A Werewolf Boy

With Song Joong Ki on the roster, it came as no surprise that feature film A Werewolf Boy would find success, even before its premiere.

But we know what matters in the film world is opening day, and the movie lived up to expectations, even knocking 007 Skyfall down to second place when it premiered on October 31.

The big names and intriguing storyline made for the perfect recipe at the box office, proving James Bond has nothing on our werewolf boy!
