Gold Prices Seen Falling Next Week - Participants

After a sharp rally to record nominal price highs over $1,800 an ounce, gold prices could see a retreat next week, most participants in the Kitco News Gold Survey said.
In the Kitco News Gold Survey, out of 34 participants, 23 responded this week. Of those 23 participants, five see prices up, while 14 see prices down, and four see prices sideways or unchanged. Market participants include bullion dealers, investment banks, futures traders and technical chart analysts.
A downgrading of the U.S. credit rating by Standard & Poor’s, worries about the stability of some European economies and other general financial malaise pushed gold prices to a high of $1,817.60, only to fall back from that level.
Participants who see weaker prices next week cited the rebound in equities and the CME Group’s move to raise margin levels for gold futures traders as a reason for gold’s weaker trade toward the week’s end. Several of them also expect the weakness to continue as the market continues to correct.
“I expect gold to trade at $1,675 sometime within the next week. The parabolic move of this week when lead-month futures (December) set both a daily volume record for a lead month (Tuesday) and a daily volume record Thursday for a day when prices were lower (are a reason). Erratic trading behaviors at extreme highs are indicative near the turn in trends,” said Ken Morrison, founder and editor of online newsletter Morrison on the Markets.
The few who see higher prices said the stronger underlying trend, despite the pullback, will eventually revert and drag prices higher. |

Gold price may hit US$2500 an ounce
THE price of gold is expected to extend its decade-long bull run and hit as
high as US$2,500 per ounce by the end of this year amid a worsening sovereign
debt crisis in Europe and United States struggles with a massive deficit,
analysts said.
JPMorgan raised its expected price of the safe haven metal to at least
US$2,500 per ounce by the end of December on expectations the global economy
will hit another crisis, the investment bank said in its latest report.
JPMorgan previously put its estimate at US$1,800 an ounce, a level breached
earlier this week.
Goldman Sachs projected the price at US$1,860 in the next 12 months while
analysts with UBS also raised their forecast to US$1,850 in the next three
months.
Gold rocketed above US$1,801 per ounce for the first time on Wednesday in New
York as stock markets tumbled around the world. It fell US$32.80 per ounce to
US$1,751.50 on Thursday. The Wednesday record almost tripled its 2008 lows of
US$680. |

nape nak jual, simpan la.. tunggu dia shoot ke USD2500 per oz.
aku dah ade skit gold bar, buat simpan jer. Aku tak suka main emas, aku simpan jer as my precious asset. Gold saving pun dah lama aku tutop, sbb byk doubt pasal halal/haram gold saving ni. Sbb you don't hold the gold.
Tp aku lebih suka simpan Kijang & maple leaf. Kijang spread value rendah, bank negara yg kluar kan lg, so ape nak runsing. Tp rasanye kijang susah nk dpt stok time2 org sibuk beli emas skrg nih. kalu ade org nk let go kijang atau maple leaf, inform aku yer. Awal tahun aritu aku beli kijang & maple leaf baru Rm4500++ per oz. Skrg dah RM5600 ++ |
