Hamilton: I could have gone faster (kata bongkak lagi)
Lewis Hamilton warned his rivals that there was a lot more to comefrom him and McLaren after his consummate victory in the AustralianGrand Prix.
The British star controlled the chaotic race from the start, whilehis arch-rivals at Ferrari both retired after a catalogue of errors.
After the race, Lewis revealed that once he had reached the firstcorner in front, he had been able to pace himself for the rest of theafternoon.
"I actually had a little bit of wheelspin so I think we were quiteclose going into the first corner, but I was able to pull a good gapand just had to keep it cool and look after the tyres," Hamilton said.
"From then on I really just paced myself and didn't over-do it.
"I had plenty of time in me so I just used that to my advantage and tried to look after the tyres."
He praised McLaren's efforts over the winter, and said the speedFerrari's Kimi Raikkonen had displayed between mistakes was of noconcern to him.
"I have to say a huge thank you to McLaren-Mercedes - the car wasphenomenal, a complete dream to drive compared to the car we had lastyear," Lewis said.
"We could have gone quicker, so I'm not particularly bothered aboutthe Ferrari's pace, but obviously BMW and Williams have done a greatjob as well so the team need to keep on pushing, as will I."
He also thanked the team's strategists for their efforts in a race blighted by three safety car periods.
"I guess it was like my first win in Montreal last year where we hadfour safety cars, it was pretty similar to that where it was difficultto heat the brakes and the tyres," Hamilton said.
"Pulling me in early on both my pit stops really did help us in terms of safety cars and keeping us out of trouble.
"The teams look at all angles and try to analyse exactly what could go on in the race, and they plan for the worst.
"We have a fantastic strategy team and they did a great job."
Buoyed by his victory, Hamilton is bursting with confidence going into next weekend's race at Sepang.
"I feel fantastic," he said.
"It was great preparation for Malaysia - bring it on."
