'American Idol' Hooligan -- Cuffed and Released
Posted Jan 21st 2010 5:30AM by TMZ Staff
The guy who was led out of "American Idol" in handcuffs on last night's show got a lucky break after the cameras stopped rolling -- producers let the guy off the hook.
TMZ has learned 28-year-old Jarrod Norrell -- who was manhandled by security when he refused to leave his audition -- was escorted out of the Orlando, Florida building ... but did not go to jail.
Cops tell TMZ, that at the request of "A.I." producers, Norrell only received a threat -- meaning that if he returned to the auditions he would have been arrested.
This American Idol contestant, Cornelius Edwards, did not only impress the judges with his voice but also with his adult entertainer moves when he completely ripped his pants while doing the splits on the ground (watch video below). Hilarious!! And guess what? Cornelius is going to Hollywood!!
Tengoklah artikel bawah ni (no, bukan nak citer pasal Steve Perry), wah tak sangkanya Idol alum sorang ni yg kita puja2 dulu. He finally made it. Tak kisahlah tak menang but to get nominated is an accomplishment by itself... btw, citer dah outdated tapi I baru tau
Star Tribune Newspaper:Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin'' keeps going
By GLENN GAMBOA, Newsday -Last update: September 9, 2009 - 12:26 PM
The continuing success of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" is a head-scratcher.
The song, which peaked at No. 9 on the pop charts in 1981, isn't even the Bay Area band's biggest hit. That would be "Open Arms" (No. 2 in 1982), followed by "Who's Crying Now" (No. 4, 1981) and "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" (No. 8 in 1983).
Nevertheless, "Don't Stop Believin'" continues to be a pop-culture force today, even used as the finale for the current "American Idols Live" tour, where all the finalists get a crack at a few lines from the classic. And, according to Nielsen SoundScan, it was the top music download from the '80s as of the end of July, ahead of seven Michael Jackson songs, Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" and Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger." (This week, the song was still among iTunes' Top 100 downloads -- the oldest song on the current list by far -- as was a cover version by the cast of "Glee.")
"The lyric is a strong lyric about not giving up, but it's also about being young," former Journey singer Steve Perry told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. recently about the song he wrote with keyboardist Jonathan Cain and guitarist Neal Schon, who continue with Journey. "It's about having hope and not quitting when things get tough, because I'm telling you, things get tough for everybody."
Maybe that's why "Don't Stop Believin'" lives on and on and on.
Here's a look at some of its recent incarnations:
"The Sopranos" (2007)
Used as: The theme music for the HBO series' final scene, a seemingly regular family meal at a diner that feels ominous, especially when the song cuts out after "Don't stop" and the screen goes black.
The reaction: The song had an immediate resurgence following its part in the scene, which became so iconic that Hillary Clinton even parodied it as part of her presidential campaign.
"Rock of Ages" (2009)
Used as: The finale of the Broadway musical, where the entire cast gets together and ties up story lines.
The reaction: The scene helped "Rock of Ages" land a Tony nomination for best musical and a nod for Constantine Maroulis as lead actor in a musical.
"Glee" (2009)
Used as: The main number in the first episode of the new Fox series about a high-school glee club.
The reaction: The cast's version was an overnight sensation, landing at No. 4 on the pop charts on the strength of its download sales
Sorry geng for the Connie Love fest. Belum ada himbo yg layak dibincangkan season ni, so might as well revisit previous himbos.
Untuk makluman peminat2 AI yg tak kenal Constantine Maroulis, he was the original Glambert , except he was straight
Constantine Maroulis Bangs His Head On Broadway
OK, now. A few years ago, I was cordially and rockin'-ly invited to a preview performance of Rock Of Ages, a nostalgic rock opera featuring music from the big '80s era of big hair and big riffs. Man, I couldn't RSVP "yes" fast enough. C'mon, a Broadway musical featuring the classic headbanging hitz of Poison, Ratt, and Whitesnake? Dood, what was not to like?.
Well, actually, there was a LOT not to like. Rock Of Ages just did not, well, ROCK. I dunno, I thought that seeing a chorus line of spandex-sheathed, haystack-haired Sunset Strip metal groupies high-kicking their way through Night Ranger's "Sister Christian" would make for a totally awesome night of theater. But I was wrong. So very, very wrong. Somehow, something was just missing....
...and hey, you know what Rock Of Ages was missing, specifically? CONSTANTINE MAROULIS!! .
Yes, the American Idol also-ran (who long before Adam Lambert was seamlessly, sexily, and successfully combining rock 'n' roll bad-boyishness and cheesy Broadway theatricality into one bedroom-eyed, bedheaded rock-star package) was thankfully added to the Rock Of Ages cast. Then the show hit Broadway...and of course, accolades and Tony Award nominations ensued. .
See, Rock Of Ages protagonist "Drew" was truly the role Constantine was BORN to play: the part of a struggling musician who journeys to the big, bad city of Hollywood with a headful of both Aqua-Net and dreams of rock stardom. Dreams that are soon crushed, of course, "Welcome To The Jungle"-style. Hey, sort of like Constantine's through-to-Hollywood dream of being the next American Idol was crushed, huh? So it's no wonder he gave such a convincing, Tony-nominated performance..
Yes, that's right: Tonight CONSTANTINE WAS NOMINATED FOR A TONY, for Best Leading Actor In A Musical. Sadly, that dream too was crushed, when he lost out to THREE kids playing the titular Billy Elliot role. (Doesn't that seem unfair? There were three of them!) But in a way, Constantine still won, because the performance above is THE 2009 Tony Awards moment everyone will be gabbing about around the watercooler tomorrow (well, that and the Bret Michaels incident, of course). Billy who?.
"I think it's the kind of material that stays with you," Constantine told Rolling Stone when Rock Of Ages first began its Broadway run earlier this year. (Incidentally, Constantine was also in the musical-theater version of The Wedding Singer, so he's an old pro at this Broadway-goes-totally-'80s shtick.) "Those songs always stay with you, but it was nice to invite them back into my life. And sort of look at them from a different point of view and see which bands have survived and have been relevant." .
Well, judging from the totally radical clip above, one of Constantine's most relevant moments in Rock Of Ages is when he belts out Twisted Sister's "I Wanna Rock." Let's face it, if only he'd sung that on American Idol during season 4's "21st Century Week" instead of the throwaway Nickelback song he foolishly went with, maybe he wouldn't have been eliminated. I know I would have speed-dialed his voting number with all the nimble-fingeredness of the greatest '80s metal guitar shredder ever, had he performed anything from the Dee Snider songbook with this much scenery-chewing gusto..
And if only he'd been the one singing all these hard rock hits the night I went to see Rock Of Ages in L.A. years ago, I would have had a MUCH better night at the opera. .
Constantine, you were robbed tonight. But hey, don't stop believin'...
November 8, 2008: Constantine Maroulis stars in Rock of Ages Off-Broadway
Question: When did you begin to sing?
Answer: Very young. My mother sang in church and my brother is a singer. We listened to great music in the house growing up
Q: What was your first theatrical experience?
A: Oh a little show called "The History of Rock n ' Roll". My music teacher Mr. Thompson put it together. I played Paul McCartney. It was a stretch. I think that was 5th grade.
Q: What did you learn from your American Idol experience that you use while performing Off-Broadway?
A: Work is work. No matter what you’re doing. It’s about talent and your commitment to the craft. Just let it rip. Be prepared. Do your job.
Q: If you weren’t in the entertainment industry, what would you want your profession to be?
A: Center-field for The Yanks! Or a teacher.
Q: What is your favorite production that you have worked on?
A: Always the current one I'm in. You never know when the next job is coming. Well...sometimes you do.
Q: What is your dream role?
A: Honestly? Love to do The Phantom one day...haha!!! No shit! I could kill it...I think.
Q: You were born in Brooklyn and moved to New Jersey at a young age. What do you love about New York ?
A: The energy. The fact I can walk outside my apartment and be in the center of the universe. The Yanks and Giants are my life too. My family is here and all my friends. Well not ALL them.
Q: What is the biggest challenge of performing in Rock of Ages?
A: I love my job but singing Steve Perry ain't easy. Trying to stay healthy and well rested I guess.
Q: Rock of Ages is about a young rocker searching for his big break. So you feel a personal connection with the role?
A: Of course! Not to mention I grew up with this material and worship Bon Jovi! Yeah...work hard and you will go far as they say. Drew is the Constantine most people don ' t get to see...ever!
Q: What’s your favorite aspect of performing Off-Broadway?
A: I love the intimacy. Although our show is massive for Off Broadway. The audiences come to have a great time, and that ' s what we give them.
More about Constantine:
Constantine Maroulis (Drew) helped make American Idol's fourth season one of the most memorable to date. His delivery of the Queen classic "Bohemian Rhapsody" electrified audiences and became that year's must see performance and caught the attention of Brian May, who personally asked him to sing the song on the "Killer Queen" Tribute CD (Hollywood Records). In addition to headlining the Idol's sold out Live Summer Tour with that year's winner Carrie Underwood, Constantine has continued to tour extensively around the country solo since the show. However Idol wasn't his first stage experience, having graduated The Boston Conservatory and apprenticed at the The Williamstown Theatre Festival in 2002, Maroulis had performed in several productions prior to landing the lead role of Roger in the national tour of the hit musical RENT just before making it as a finalist on Idol and beating out millions of hopefuls auditioning. Maroulis made his Broadway debut in the Tony Nominated 2007 production of The Wedding Singer and after quickly followed up co-starring in Off Broadway's critically acclaimed production of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris . Television came back into his life with CBS's The Bold and The Beautiful, in a role specially created for him and based in part on his real life. The show featured new songs from his debut album Constantine, which was released last year on his very own Record Label, Sixth Place Records (via SONY/Red) to critical acclaim. Prior to that, his version of "My Funny Valentine" helped make the CD, American Idol The Showstoppers RIAA Certified Gold (RCA). Constantine is currently developing new material for an '09 release. Other credits include, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Tonight Show, Ellen, The Today Show, Howard Stern, Fox n' Friends, Regis & Kelly, Mike & Juliet, MTV and many more. He has also served as Co-Host on GDNY, Yahoo Buzz Session, MTV's Little Talent Show and American Idol Extra on The FOX Reality Channel. In addition, Constantine has done extensive work with many charities and non profits including Make a Wish, Hellenic Scholarship Fund, The Actors Fund, Broadway Cares and many others, including his newest endeavor with Socialvibe.

Sungguh menyedihkan isu racist tahun nie memang jelas sangat.American Idol memang kelihatan sungguh jelas isu racist nie.
Harapan yang terlalu tinggi di letakkan pada
Season 1- Tamyra Gray
Season 2- Trenyce
Season 3- Fantasia, Jennifer, Latoya
Season 4- Vonzell
Season 5- Paris & Mandisa
Season 6- Lakisha, Melinda & Stephanie E.
Season 7- Syesha
Season 8- Lil Rounds
