PKR to file suit to declare GE13 null and void after WSJ report
PKR will file a civil suit to strike out the 13th general election results as null and void after The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) said funds from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) were used for election campaigning.
Its vice-president, Nurul Izzah Anwar, said the suit will be filed "as soon as possible", and would also follow a report to be lodged with the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) on the matter.
Nurul Izzah said the allegation of using such funds, implicating Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, questions the credibility of Najib, Barisan Nasional, and Umno's legitimacy to lead the country.
She added that under electoral laws, Barisan should have only spent close to RM100 million for elections at both parliamentary and state levels, but the allegations meant that the ruling coalition might have spent RM 2.6 billion for campaigning. – July 8, 2015.

Cops raid 1MDB office
BY HEMANANTHANI SIVANANDAM AND RAHMAH GHAZALI
PETALING JAYA: The police are raiding the office of 1MDB at Jalan Sultan Ismail in Kuala Lumpur.
The raids began at around 10.00am on Wednesday and are still ongoing.
A check by The Star confirmed that police were present at the office located at Menara IMC.
The Star journalists were not allowed access to the office but was informed by a receptionist that the police and 1MDB gave instructions not to allow anyone to their office, located on level 8.
"Even the despatch people are not allowed in as they don't want to be disturbed," said the receptionist.
A security officer even said no recording of footages is allowed on the premise of Menara IMC.
Spotted outside were three police patrol cars and a van.
A special task force comprising Bank Negara Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akthar Aziz, Attorney General Tan Sri Abdul Patail, IGP Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar and MACC chief Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed has been investigating the 1MDB trail.
The task force has frozen six bank accounts and is said to be investigating 17 others involved in 1MDB funds.
The task force has seized documents during raids on 1MDB-linked companies - SRC International Sdn Bhd, Gandingan Mentari Sdn Bhd and Ihsan Perdana Sdn Bhd which allegedly were used to channel funds into what WSJ claims were the personal accounts of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
The IGP told reporters on Wednesday morning that the police were investigating how the Wall Street Journal obtained access to bank documents which it uploaded on its website on Tuesday.

olis akan menyiasat akhbar perniagaan antarabangsa The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) bagaimana ia menerima maklumat tentang AS$700 juta (RM2.67 bilion) dipindahkan ke akaun peribadi Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Ketua Polis Negara, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar berkata, mereka akan menyiasat bagaimana maklumat perbankan sulit dan dokumen diperolehi akhbar tersebut.
“Tindakan sebegini boleh mengancam ekonomi negara. Ia sama seperti sabotaj ekonomi,” kata Khalid selepas melancarkan kempen keselamatan jalan raya di Kuala Lumpur hari ini.
“Kami akan siasat kesemuanya. Pegawai bank, bank terlibat dalam siasatan termasuk WSJ. Ini perkara serius.”
Najib kini berdepan krisis selepas dakwaan menerima hampir AS$700 juta (RM2.67 bilion) melalui akaun peribadinya beberapa bulan menjelang pilihan raya umum pada 2013.
Dakwaan itu dikeluarkan akhbar The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) minggu lalu.
– 8 Julai, 2015.
