"Narrated Aisha that the prophet wrote the marriage contract with her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old. Hisham said: "I have been informed that Aisha remained with the prophet for nine years (i.e. till his death).""
Bukhari vol. 7, #88:
"Narrated Urwa: "The prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death).""

Heckler tried but we were not looking for a National Geograpihic coverage, were we? Until today it still remains that Jubair ibn Mut'am has put doubt over the reportings of Hisham and his father Urwa over the true age of Ayeshah when betrothed to prophet Mohammad.

If you think that your "proofs" can hold your prosecution efforts, why is it that you aren't moving forward with them? If you think your line of prosection is unshakable, then try backdropping your "proofs" with the existence of Jubair. Do it Debmey for if you don't, there's just no way you can keep a clean nose with Hisham and Urwa's reporting as recorded by Bukhari...but then again knowing you, that won't be an option you'd relish upon.

The Bukhari hadiths is the proof. Are you saying that Al Bukhari is invalid and inaccurate? Perhaps then teh entire Al Bukhari is also thrown into question then.

Invalid or inaccurate as you put it is not for me to say. Same as it is not for me to say whether your canons are invalid or inaccurate. But if arise the element of doubt over uncertainty, then only do we need to gather and make available research for more evidential support over the troubled issue. In this case, the probelm lies not with Bukhari as he was the self-appointed master recorder,but with the source of the reporting transmitted by Hisham and his father Urwa. You keep on coveniently "forgetting" this very important understanding by Fuzzman.
Moreover if the Bukhari hadiths be allegedly "corrupted, invalid and inaccurate" as suggested by you, then of course you would be left discoursed with no foundational evidences to prop your paedo charge upon the prophet of Islam. Knowing you, this definately would not be a forebearing you want staring you in the face! You have to by all means resourceful keep the channels open to support your agenda.
If you think your line of prosection is unshakable, then try backdropping your "proofs" with the existence of Jubair put into a pre-Mohammad scenario. So what do you think was the age of Ayeshah when Jubair ibn Mut'am was pivotal in her pre-Mohammadian social life?

Hadiths are like Gospels, spoken by third parties. Commonly accepted hadiths are like your canons too lest you forget. Hadiths like the Gospels have the common ""About such and such, that he heard his father say that such and such said, that he heard such and such say, that he heard such and such say, etc...." That's the receipe of how came about the Gospels and the Hadiths.
So let's not waste time here. What do you think was the age of Ayeshah when Jubair ibn Mut'am was pivotal in her pre-Mohammadian social life?

Later on my hair grew (again) and my mother, Um Ruman, came to me while I was playing in a swing with some of my girl friends. She called me, and I went to her, not knowing what she wanted to do to me. She caught me by the hand and made me stand at the door of the house. I was breathless then, and when my breathing became all right, she took some water and rubbed my face and head with it. Then she took me into the house. There in the house I saw some Ansari women who said, "Best wishes and Allah's blessing and a good luck." Then she entrusted me to them and they prepared me (for the marriage). Unexpectedly Allah's messenger came to me in the forenoon and my mother handed me over to him, and at that time I was a girl of nine years of age." |
