wicket over tu.. maksudnya dalam over tu, bowler dapatkan wicket..

....and no runs too? Kalau dapat wicket masa 3rd ball katakan ye....over dia habis ke atau mesti sambung sampai bowl 6 kali dgn new batsman?

ya.. dulu kitorang praktis camtu.. kena runless..

kalau dapat wicket.. still sambung habiskan over.. so, kalau dapat wicket kat 3rd ball.. kena tunggu batsman baru masuk dan lepas tu, bowl 3 ball lagi..

hai.. 2-3 hari lepas.. saja la tengok kat astro channel 8.. ada cerita pasal seorang muslim indian player yang pekak bercita-cita nak jadi pemain nasional kriket.. iqbal nama dia.. seronok jugak tengok cerita tu..
kalau di india.. malah pakistan.. kalau pandai main kriket.. sampai ke tahap pemain nasional.. aduiii.. macam hero negara jadinya...

Plot Summary for Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India (2001)

The rains have failed, and the people of a small Indian village in Victorian India hope that they will be excused from paying the crippling land tax that their British rulers have imposed. Instead, the capricious British officer in charge challenges them to a game of cricket, a game totally alien and unknown to them. If they win, they get their wish; if they lose, however, the increased tax burden will destroy their lives. The people are terrified, but one man thinks the challenge is worth staking their entire future on. Will he convince the villagers to give it their best shot?

Circa late 1800s, India is ruled and governed by the British. A small rural town is asked to pay it's annual taxes to a British army captain. The Rajah of this town, Puran Singh, pleads before Captain Andrew Russell to reduce the levy as monsoons had not been adequate and as a result crops had suffered. But the Captain does not agree. Taking advantage of the simple-minded townspeople, he magnanimously makes a offer to play cricket with their team, if they win then there will no taxes levied, but if they lose then they will end up thrice the amount of taxes. The Rajah returns to confer with his subjects. A young man by the name of Bhuvan tells the Rajah that he will make up a team and that the Rajah should accept the Captain's challenge. The Rajah delightedly does so, much to the glee and amusement of the Captain. Then begins the task of selecting a team. Bhuvan finds this to be a real challenge, as no one has really played cricket, they do not even own a bat or a ball. The selection of the team is marred with problems as to religion and caste, with some men saying that they will never play in the same team with a person of a lower caste. Nevertheless, Bhuvan pushes on, and does manage to come up with eleven men. Then begins the practice, and Bhuvan finds an ally in Elizabeth Russell, Captain Russell's sister, who agrees to coach them on the sly. The team uses a large stick in place of a bat, and a round stone as a ball. Each player is assigned certain tasks, and the tension reverberates as the day of the actual match draws closer. News get around, and people from miles around flock to watch this match. They are joined by several senior ranking British Officers. This match now has become a prestige issue, and the British High Command makes it known that it not stand to lose face at any cost. Finally, the day arrives. The match begins. Bhuvan and the Rajah hope that they have covered all potholes, and hope for a miracle. But what the two had not banked on was treachery at the hands of one of their very own players, who had accepted a bribe from Captain Russell, to ensure that the Indian team loses.

aku baru jumpa thread nih..
dulu main kriket zaman skolah2... manyak beshh
skool kitorang mmg sayuran kangkong.. dlm masa 10 thn pertama langsung x penah menang
kalah dgn runs yg byk (lebih 100 pun adaaaa) or 10 wiket.. time kitorang generasi baru
ade 5 org hardcore - hali2 main kol 3-azan asar.. so kira mantap gak aaa
pastu 1 or 2 weeks before PPM zon tengah kitorang berjaya record first ever win
against SAS KL.. perasaan bila victorious tu mmg xleh lupa sampai skang...

pastu team kitorang main peringkat daerah.. tapi x sempat nak abiskan schedule sbb
bertembung ngan PPM (masa tu kat teluk intan)

kitorang berjaya masuk semi final lepas beat smap kajang ngan RMC
tapi kalah ditangan sains selangor.. semi lak kalah ngan labu
teruk gak tapi x ingat baper... masa tu labu ade sorang fastbowler yg mmg gila laju
dia bowl

skool aku mmg xda kemudahan
utk stumps kitorang pakai batang penyapu je
bats ada 1 je yg ngam.. lagi satu berat
yg lain2 tahap nak hancuss

so everytime main musti pinjam bat team org punya
hahaha.. malu betul

pad kaki yg sempurna ada 1 pair je
yg lain dah tercabut2 buckle dia
dalam sebulan sblm PPM kitorang terjumpa pad2 lama
kaler cokelat lagi.. hahahaa malu betul
skool lain sume pakai kaler putih

huhuhu kenangan zaman silam

sama la kita..  zaman dulu pakai bat yang ntah berapa tahun punya umur..  seniors bila balik siap boleh gelak pasal bat zaman diorang survive sampai sekarang..  tak leh pukul kuat-kuat, nanti patah bat, takde duit nak beli baru..  pads pulak, berjahit sana-sini..

time game, pinjam team lain punya..  dedulu, belajar pakai buku je..  coach takde..  cikgu yang jaga kitorang, tak reti main, chehh..

dah masuk form 4 kot..  baru merasa kit baru..

ni satu tektik yg berkesan kalo fielders takda kat area dekat2 batsman (silly,midwicket)
masa bowler tgh lari utk bowling, another batsman jalan pelan2/lari2 anak gitu dlm 1/4 mat..
yg facing d ball blok bola pastu terus bagi signal lari/x lari. so buleh curik run

biasa kalo buat camni diorang akan taruk sorang dua kat tgh2.. masa tu korang whackler kekuat.. biar dia tuka position jauh2 utk cover boundaries

dolu2 slalu pakai teknik nih kalo kena ngan fastbowler.. masa tu wicket keeper pun jauh..
so xda orang nak cover utk buat run out

1. Adakah komunikasi antara bowler dgn wicket keeper? mcmana wicky nak tau bola apa yg akan di buat oleh bowler..
biasanya wicket keeper akan tau style bowlers dlm team dia.. ada spinners/legbreakers/
seamers/pace/fast ... yg problem sikit utk seamers.. kekadang laju kekadang pelan

2. Kalao bola bowl tuju kena badan batsman.. ada sebarang denda ke atas bowler, batsman dapat free run ke.. atau dapat sakit je...
bergantung camana bola tu bounce.. kalo tinggi lebih bahu (kalo x silap) kira no ball
kalo kena bat sikit pastu bola tanggung dan caught, dia out
kalo kena muka (cam aku kena skali) kira makin gian nak main jer

3. Kalau kita jadi "fielder" (aku x tau nama diorg ni apa).. dan bola dipukul leret oleh batsman.. kita ligan bola tu supaya jgn keluar boundary.. bole tak kita blok guna kaki ke.. badan ke supaya tak sempat bola tu kuar dari boundary...
tangkap pakai topi xleh, yg lain suma ok.. time camni ler nak tunjuk komitmen kat coach
yg kita sanggup buat apa saja utk blok boundaries.. sliding/diving suma ada...

aku kira ok lagi kot.. coach aku ex SASKL.. dia mmg main kriket zaman muda2 dulu (masa tu dia baru 25-26 gitu).. dia part of the team yg blasah skool aku 180-18.. hahahhaa
tu yg pueh hati sgt dpt beat juniors dia w/pun menang 25 runs je

anyway aku mmg puas hati sbb kejayaan kitorang masuk semi PPM + 4 orang masuk team
daerah membuka mata pihak pentadbiran skolah utk beli equipment baru utk juniors...
x sempat merasa pun takpa...
