Seven Samurai- 1954 - Japan
This is a classic samurai movie. Poor village farmers seek the help of 7 Samurai to defend them from attack from the bandits. A must see movie of director Akira Kurosawa. This movie is 3.5 hours long, lots of fighting scene. This film is a masterpiece.

Sweet Sixteen - 2002 - Scottish
Story bout 15 years old boy who determined to have a normal life with his mother after she get out from prison after being drug mule for her boyfriend who is a obnoxious drug pusher. The boy and his friend raised money by becoming a drug pusher. Need a subtitles to watch this movie bcoz of the heavy Scottish accents....lots of foul languages, cursing, swearing....

Yojimbo - 1961 - Japanese
Watch another Akira Kurosawa samurai movie. Here I copy and paste d storyline
Sanjuro, a wandering samurai enters a rural town in nineteenth century Japan. After learning from the innkeeper that the town is divided between two gangsters, he plays one side off against the other. His efforts are complicated by the arrival of the wily Unosuke, the son of one of the gangsters, who owns a revolver. Unosuke has Sanjuro beaten after he reunites an abducted woman with her husband and son, then massacres his father's opponents. During the slaughter, the samurai escapes with the help of the innkeeper; but while recuperating at a nearby temple, he learns of innkeeper's abduction by Unosuke, and returns to the town to confront him.

- dah lama tak tengok kevin costner berlakon ... boleh tahan ler ...

A scottish friend recommend this movie to me. Movie bout coming of age, boy meet gal, boy in love with gal....but gal only interested in playing football, guy get advice from his 10 years old sister...it's a light and easy comedy movie...

Family Drama. Kisah mak bapa di kg yg melawat anak2 di bandar Tokyo....anak2 sibuk, takde masa nak layan mak bapa....mak bapa jauh hati....hanya sorang menantu sajer sudi melayan mak bapa mentua....bila balik semula ke kg, mak jatuh sakit dan mati, anak2 cuma dtg melawat sekejap sajer pastu dah berkira2 ngan harta peninggalan mak.

tak berapa nak mencabar dgn jalan citer dan lakonan..patut amik hero lain yg lebih bertenaga..liam neeson cam semput jer.. |

Setting tahun 1960s masa black kt US ditindas. Pasal satu black family yang duk kat state yang xde isu racism and then diorg nak balik bercuti kat kampung parents kat Alabama. So anak2 diorg yg x penah tau apa benda racism ni now experience first hand.
Sejak 2 bulan ni mcm minat american drama movies yg setting or bertemakan southern. Maybe punca dr oscar fever aritu lepas tgk Dallas Buyers Club and 12 Years a Slave. |
