Ingress wins RM106mil Proton jobPETALING JAYA: Automotive components assembler Ingress Corp Bhd has received a contract worth RM105.7mil to develop and supply body panels for a Proton’s new model.
Its share price and volume had surged since Feb 22 on market anticipation that it would secure more contracts. Its share price rose to an eight-year high of RM1.52, 10 sen more than the closing price of RM1.42 on Feb 22. There were 3.57 million shares changing hands.
At RM1.52, it is trading at a price-to-earnings of 5.26 times, [url=]Bloomberg[/url] data show.
In a filing with Bursa, the company said it had received a letter of appointment on Feb 22 via its 70%-owned subsidiary, [url=]Ingress Technologies Sdn Bhd[/url], from [url=]PHN Industry Sdn Bhd[/url] to act as a tier-2 supplier for the project.
It said the contract for the development and supply of body panels, comprising front and rear side structures and roof module, for Proton’s new model, was expected to commence in the second quarter of the financial year ending Jan 31, 2015, over a period of five years.
“The project is estimated to generate a total of about RM107.5mil in revenue to the group while the total investment is expected to cost some RM23.1mil (for tools, jigs and die, assembly equipment and others),” it added.
It also said the project was expected to contribute positively to its earnings.
