petroleum engineer adalah chemical engineer yg khusus kpd petroleum... Betul Ke???  |

ahaah.. marastudent... ko pun stadi kat utp..
kat utp. petroleum is one of the minor.. for chemical & mechanical
for other uni, such as UTM, petroleum n chemical are totally different..
petroleum enginering will be more focussed on the oil n gas industry.
chemical will include others like petrochemical, process control, refinery etc.. |

chemical engineering is totally different with petroleum engineering.
chemical engineering
- downstream business
- keja kat either petrochemical or refinery plant
- kerja kat onshore je, mungkin suburb la pasal new plants/factories jauh dari residential/township area.
petroleum engineering
- upstream business
- dealing ngan drilling, carik new oil wells, etc
- normally dok kat offshore @ platform... depends la, tak suma orang suka. time bujang ok la.
overall perspective?
kat msia, we crave for PE (petroleum engineer), most of the seniors dah lari ke middle east, triple pay ma... for chem e, demand not as good as PE but ada lah. it is foreseen by next 3-5 years - msia mungkin kekurang chem e pasal banyak refinery and petchems kat middle east baru commissioned...
got any questions marastudent? mrsm mana ya? teringat masa muda2 dulu. |

chem ada tanya... which mrsm? macam kita semua ansara club je ? huhuhu |

overseas ke local?
ni lps spm ke ni..?
local - utm,upm,utp..kalau nak masuk terus,ma uk utp ler..yg lain masuk matriks dulu pastu masa final sem pilih lah nak kos apa & univ mn..
overseas - kalau lps spm,nak minta scholar jpa ke mara etc dia ada tentukan negara mn yg derang hantar dan senarai univ/course berkenaan..kalau pergi direct,masa interview utk scholar tu kita dah start pilih negara & univ d senarai yg diberi..
kalau buat a level dulu,kn lulus a level tu..akan ada satu interview utk memilih univ mn yg anda nak pergi,ini ambil kira ur pointer masa a level tu..kalau pointer bagus,blh lah dpt top univ..
btw the key point is setiap penaja dah ada list negara & univ yg derang akan hantar student berdasarkn course yg diambil.. |

r u sure? kalau local xde masalah..u blh dpt mara,jpa,ptptn,etc utk pet eng kat utp,utm,upm..
cuma kalau overseas univ,susah skit nak cari course pet eng tu..most of the univ offer chem eng... |

as far as i know, petroleum engineering only offered by utm. kat overseas kat us je cam tulsa, texas, etc. utk petroleum engineering... my time , petronas pun suka sponsor course ni.
