Don't get mistaken by it's appearances.. rumah yang nampak moden ni dibina pada 1934, siap pada 1935.. salah satu daripada 'art deco' stylish house yang wujud di Barat pada tahun 1930's.  





Dibina oleh Sultan Ibrahim Johor untuk aweknye, UK leading entertainer, Miss Cissie.  Rumah ni jadi istananya sepanjang di London antara tahun 1935 hingga sebelum perang.

AMAZING FACTS





Kompleks rumah tersebut terdiri dari 3 bahagian berasingan, while the other 2 were located adjacently.  

Built in with greenhouse, studio and air-raid shelter bunker dibawah taman bunganya, design similarly to famous Stanton Shelter, made especially for Sultan Ibrahim.  It survived the Nazi bombing in 1940's.

ROMANTIC PASTS

Besides the romantic tales (bersambung di episode untold history akan datang.... ) surround the existence of this house between HH Ibrahim and Cissie, rumah ni jugak pernah menarik minat Mister Michael Wilding... pelakun terkenal dari US dan suami kepada Elizabeth Taylor.

Michael Wilding fell in love with this house, knocked the door and ask to buy it.. but it was refused by the caretaker, AFB Allchin.

ABANDON TREASURE

Sultan Ibrahim 'meninggal'kan rumah ni setelah kematian Cissie kerana di bom.. diamanahkan kepada Florence, mak Cissie sehingga dia mati pada tahun 1973.

Rumah ini tidak didiami sejak 1975, tetapi di  jaga oleh kakak Cissie yang tinggal di kompleks bersebelahan sehingga tahun 2005.

Sejak itu, rumah ini diperlihara oleh Canterbury City Council, kerana sejarah dan romantic tales surrounding this house.

aku x concern gossip2 ni.. but aku concern bende2 ni je:

i.  gambar pertame..

dlm semua "A" shape houses, the whole stretch of belouvard.. cume rumah ni je yg pelik.  but, not built in modern time.. built 80 years ago.

ii. historical value

Canterbury city council at Herne Bay listed this compound as their historical site.. flocks of tourist visited this house because of it's colorful pasts.
