Cabbie returns RM20,000 camera to honeymooners
KUALA LUMPUR: Erme Harlini Zulkifli is grateful to an honest taxi driver who returned her bag that she accidentally left behind.
“I was shedding tears of joy and thanked him repeatedly,” said Erme Harlini whose bag contained a camera worth RM20,000, another camera with photos of her honeymoon, her purse and cash totalling about RM2,000.
The 29-year-old IT engineer and her 28-year-old husband boarded a taxi at 2.30am last Thursday at KL Sentral upon returning from their honeymoon in Langkawi.
“It was only when we reached home that I realise that I had left it in the cab,” she said.
“The expensive camera belongs to my company. I wouldn’t have the money to pay back if I lost it,” she added.
Erme Harlini and her husband panicked and returned to KL Sentral to look for the taxi driver.
“I did not know the vehicle’s number plate nor its colour. All I remember is the driver was a Chinese man, tall, wearing a white shirt and drove a Proton Iswara,” she said.
“My husband and I asked every taxi driver we came across at KL Sentral. Finally, several drivers there pointed at a taxi nearby saying that the cabbie could be the person I was looking for,” she said.
When she confronted the driver, he told her that he was also looking for her since he discovered the bag that morning.
As a token of appreciation, Erme Harlini’s husband offered a monetary reward but the taxi driver turned it down.
Even so, the couple still hope to do something for the man driving the taxi bearing the number plate HWC 4064.
“If I put the reward in an ang pow, he cannot turn it down because it is like he is rejecting good luck and fortune.
“I have got the ang pow ready for him. But most importantly, I have to find him again,” she said.

Aku pernah tercicir dompet dalam bas (masa masih di U), dan driver bas pulangkan kesemua masih intact (tmasuk duit). Driver bas tu pak cik Melayu. |

Tengok syarat kot. Kalau hilang semasa melakukan urusan rasmi pejabat baru dpt claim. Kalau dipinjam oleh staff utk honeymoon tak boleh claim insurance.

budak2 melayu ni kalau ada barang tinggal..berebut rebut nak amik...bila tegur kata aku dengki pulak... |

benda ni takde kena mengena ngan india ke cina ke melayu ke.. aku pun dulu penah tertinggal dompet lam teksi.. smpi opis baru sedar.. panik sgt.. lari kuar dr opis melilau cari teksi tu.. last2 rupanya teksi patah balik cari aku. driver tu pulang balik dompet. aku bg duit dia takmo. ajak breakfast pun takmo.
alhamdulillah still ada orang baik kat malaysia ni. |

melayu ni ramai yg baik tapi kalau melayu jenis kuat mencarut...merempit semua tu...apa nak diharapkan...biasanya bebudak kg dalam bandar suka buat perangai camtu...sama laa budak flet semua tu...
