KUALA LUMPUR: A retired criminal investigator told the High Court here this morning he was instructed by the present Kuala Lumpur Police CID chief OCCI Datuk Ku Chin Wah to confiscate items from police headquarters
lockup on July 17, 2008.
The15th prosecution witness in the sodomy trial of Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, former KL Forensic Laboratory Crime Scene Investigation chief Amiron Manan, testified Ku called him to confiscate the exhibits, which were in the lockup at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters.
At the time, Ku was ranked SAC II while Amiron was Superintendent. During examination by Deputy public prosecutor Datuk Nordin Hassan, Amiron said Ku told him to go to the lockup and retrieve the items for the purpose of DNA profiling.
At the lockup, he tagged a strand of hair, a toothbrush, a 'Good Morning' brand towel and a bottle of mineral water.
He took the items, sealed it and handed it to investigation officer DSP Jude Pereira.
Amiron earlier told the court on June 28, 2008, he was also the one who went to the condominium in Damansara to analyse the crime scene.
"I reached there (the condominium) at 12.20pm and inspected the two units, 11-5-1 and 11-5-2," he said.
From the first unit, Amiron told the court. he collected a strand of hair from a bedroom floor and from the second unit, he took a carpet and a blanket for DNA profiling.
After collecting the items, he sealed and handed them to Pereira at the place itself and completed the necessary documentations.
Earlier this morning, 14th prosecution witness Lance Corporal Mohamad Fazli Hassan testified he took 14 photographs of the lockup at the KL police headquarters and the items in the lockup.
Later, 17th prosecution witness ASP Yahya Abdul Rahman was questioned over the toilet in the D9 lockup where Anwar had been detained on July 16, 2008.

aku rasa takde mana dah korang nak spin. barangan yang di rampas adalah dari lokap yg anwar masuk malam 17 julai 2008 dan di lepaskan pagi esoknya. polis membenarkan anwar bawak botol mineral selain tuala yg anwar bawak sendiri dan jugak tuala yg polis bekalkan beserta berus gigi. BARANG INI LAH YG jabatan kimia (puan noraidora) sahkan sebagai profile yg sama dengan lelaki Y, yakni ekstrak sperma yg ada DALAM rektum saiful.
