best citer ni. klakar. pasal former policeman yang terlampau2 pembersih. kat US dah masuk season 3 ... hmmm jauh kita nak kena catch-up.
SYPNOSIS
Former police detective Adrian Monk has suffered from intensified obsessive-compulsive disorder and a variety of phobias since the murder of his wife, Trudy, in 1997. Despite his photographic memory and his amazing ability to piece tiny clues together, he is now on psychiatric leave from the San Francisco Police Department.
Aided by his friend and practical nurse, Sharona Fleming, Monk works as a freelance detective/consultant, hoping to convince his former boss, Captain Leland Stottlemeyer, to allow him to return to the force. Stottlemeyer wavers between admiration for Monk and annoyance at his eccentricities.
Moreover, he harbors serious doubts about the wisdom of allowing Monk to carry a gun. Stottlemeyer's second-in-command, Lieutenant Randall Disher, also has his doubts about Monk but seems to be developing a reluctant admiration for the "defective detective".

Mr. Monk and the Candidate (1)
Synopsis
Three years after losing his job with the San Francisco Police Department because of his obsessive/compulsive disorder, Monk is working as a private consultant investigating the murder of a young woman named Nicole Vasquez. Shortly after determining that the murderer was at least 6'3", smoked menthol cigarettes, and wore slippers, Monk receives a call from his former boss, Captain Stottlemeyer, who reluctantly requests his aid in discovering the would-be assassin of mayoral candidate Warren St. Claire. While at least three people (including Mrs. St. Claire) seem to have sufficient motive to kill the candidate, the Vasquez murder seems to be unmotivated. Despite the captain's skepticism, Monk is certain that the cases are related.
Notes
This episode is the first half of the two-hour pilot movie, available on DVD as of June 24, 2003. Please submit viewer comments relating to this episode to the proper Forum.
Stottlemeyer's lieutenant is listed in the credits for the pilot as Lt. Deacon, but he's referred to in later episodes as Lt. Disher. A 2002 interview with Jason Gray-Stanford refers to the character as Lt. Deakins. Apparently the writers and producers had a hard time deciding on an appropriate name.
Sharona's son, Benjy, played by American child actor Kane Ritchotte in the pilot (parts one and two), is played by a young Canadian, Max Morrow, in later season-one episodes. Kane resumes the role in season two.

Sharona (after Monk drops his keys into the casket): You're going straight to hell.

Miranda St. Claire: Are you accusing me of something, Mr. Monk?
Monk: I don't know. Are you guilty of something?
Miranda St. Claire: Do you lie awake at night thinking of ways to disrupt my husband's campaign?
Monk: No, ma'am, I lie awake at night and try not to think at all.
Goofs
Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) says, "She was shot. He was stabbed." Backwards, Captain!
In every episode during the theme song, Monk's door is unlocked when he leaves. If he had OCD, which he does, he would lock the door when he left. (Contributed by King Of Nitpicks.) My note: Maybe he has a door like mine, which can be locked with a deadbolt if you're inside but has to be locked with a key from the outside if you're leaving the house (so you can't lock yourself out). That would be consistent with OCD, right? CarolT
Analysis
Fortunately for the viewers, Monk's belief that he's "going with the flow" and ready to be reinstated in the department is more than a bit premature. While his panicky reaction to misplaced keys and runny noses is chiefly played for laughs, his fear of heights is debilating and almost results in a criminal's escape. It's also clear that Monk's neuroses will not be cured until he solves the one case that eludes him, the murder of his wife in a car bombing. There's plenty of room for friction between Monk and everyone around him, especially Captain Stottlemeyer and the testy but loyal Sharona. A few scenes, notably the coughing and sneezing kids in the daycare center, are overdone, but the acting, especially by the three leads, is excellent, and the facial expressions of both Schram and Levine are priceless. If only Sharona would realize that miniskirts and bell bottoms went out of style about the time she was born, and if only USA Network would cut the commercials by half, this could be a great series.

hehehehe ... best. suka. kelakor ... eccentric gila monk tu.
masa jumpa psyco dia tu .. mata dok jeling2 bantal. gatal jer tangan dia nak betulkan bantai kat sofa tu. hehehhe ... organised sungguh. baju dalam wardrobe pun ikut kaler, pastu ikut tone dari warna paling gelap ke paling cerah. masak pun sampai lap segala appliances .. kira kacang peas. hehehehe
rasanya dia ni bukan psyco kot tapi teliti sungguh. hanya dia je nampak details yang orang lain tak nampak. from these small details dia boleh tau apa yang tak kena. dia ingat semua details sampai dia tau ex-boss dia ada problem dengan wife hanya dengan nengok the usual details takde. always thinking.
kelakar sangat masa depa kat kindergarten tu. hehehe ada budak yang selsema, ada yang korek idung .. hehehehhe tensen je monk sampai tarik sweater tutup idung. masa dia nampak budak yang korek idung tu nak makan taik idung ... dia punya takut .. hahahahahaha kelakor sungguh!

memangla best chite ni, lawak betul!!!lagipun chiteni ada sikit persamaan mcm chite penyiasatan yang lama dulu!!xingat apa tajuk chitenye, tapi chitetu mcm chite lama, yang ingat, penyiasat tu, pakai topi, ada misai mcm charlie chaplin skt n pakai tongkat!! dulu pnah ada kat tv3 gak!!!
memang klaka masa dia kat tadika tu, dah tu asyik2 ngan pembantu dia yang pompuan tu, kiranya hanya pompuan tu je yang tahan ngan perangai dia!! |
