KUCHING: Parkson Corporation Sdn Bhd (Parkson) unveiled its third store in Kuching at the city’s latest mall namely Plaza Merdeka yesterday, which makes this the 39th store nationwide and the eighth in East Malaysia.
The new Parkson store, officiated by Parkson’s general manager Loh Chai Hoon and Plaza Merdeka’s managing director Steve Ng, boasts a 135,129 square feet (sq ft) of floor space that encompasses four floors at the new shopping mall.
According to Ng, a total renovation expenditure of RM8.94 million was spent on the store, which took two months to complete. He was expecting a RM58 million return for its first year alone.
The store holds a total permanent staff force of 107 employees which beefs up the total permanent staff force to 2,334 nationwide.
The store has a total of 441 brands including 61 of which are new and exclusive.
Loh, in his speech noted that, “The store is also well equipped with 52 spacious changing room, a nappy change area, 19 cashier counters, facial cabin lounge with five facial cabin rooms with shared powder suite and in-store washrooms for a more relaxing shopping experience.
