Actually you can receive cell phone,as long as it is analogue.There are still a lot of ATUR,Celcom analogue users.Try 460Mhz onwards.

However, let me relate my experince yesterday..

I had my external attenna hooked-up to my Pro 95 yesterday (Sunday). I had set radio to search the whole CB service search and record anything that wouldl break the squelch using Scanreg. I had it run for the whole afternoon (1:30 pm to 7:00 pm roughly)

I did get something - white noise on Channel 13. Other than that - nothing.

I stay about 30 KM north of KL. Yet I can receive Sepang Tower on my radio if it is connected to my outdoor antenna.

So,

i.  There are not many users in this band, hence very low traffic volume
ii.  If there is, the output power is low - you really have to be near the transmitting station(s) and CB do not use any repeater
iii.  My set-up is not tune to receive this band - may need longer wire/dipole or yagi antenna that is cut to this portion of frequencies'
iv. I was just out of luck.

Any comment?

143.9 Mhz is not within the amateur radio freq. which is 144-148 Mhz if I am not mistaken. However, I have been monitoring this freq. for some time now and the linggo that they use is almost similar to that of Amateur guys. Are they amateur in the first place?

143.9 is listed under MCMC as being used by Sporting Adventure Sdn Bhd and I think they are using repeater somewhere  in KL/Genting area.

I have failed to note whether they are using CTCSS as amateur would use, as I have tried to scan the CTCSS but nothing come up.

Amateur would normally use 0.6Mhz - reverse and so far I have not managed to copy any of the transmission on this reverse freq.

Any 1 can enlighten me on 143.9 Mhz please ?

Donno. Maybe got to get the lesen. Kena sit for the test. Equipment also very costly. Handy mungkin at least RM800.00 per unit. Itu pun tak tahu samada boleh trigger repeater ke tak kalau max. power hanya.5 whiskey.. Mobile set mungkin RM seribu lebih. Accessories lagi.. You got a licence ( A or B)? What is ur call sign? May be can monitor u through the repeaters.  Ur QTH?  May be can drop by & c u 2 learn more about this amateur.

Met up once with 9M2GL (Pak Haji) during MARTS roadshow in Lot 10 years ago. Very nice of him to explain everything about radio etc. In fact I still enjoy listening to him when he handles ur 2M net or bila dia train people using Morse code on 2M or normally when he QSO with 9M2AU early morning .

So far have not convinced to joint MARTS or anything else. Tried once to joint ASTRA when I was based in Penang, but they turned me  down. I just want to joint as a SWL but donno why tak dapat. Since then I really pissed off....

Teman punya lesen tak bley pakai kat sini.
Teman punya Radiotelephony n Telegraphy of Competency Class 2.

Kalau deme(Telekom) kasi automatic Class A or B, o.k laa. :cak:
Sebab setahu teman, deme punya exam.....just basic jer.
Morse Code pun hanya 6 or 7 words per minute.

Of course laa...Q-code tu kena ler hafal.
Phonetic language pun kena ler tahu gak.

Actually, teman dah puas/jenuh dlm bidang nih.
Now baik concentrate dgn chatting.......he he he

HAM nih....actually dah ketinggalan zaman di dlm duniya communication.

Sesiapa tahu tak cara nak menggunakan scanner jenis ni..????

Cuba cari manual dalam internet. Kalau tak silap pernah nampak receiver ni kat Pasar Road KL for sale  dulu-dulu. Mungkin hanya utk racing saja (Limited receiving range) kalau tak silap hanya certain portion dalam 800 & 900 Mhz...
