[NEWS 150618] #YooAhIn Drama 'Six Flying Dragons' Filming Began Early.
The most anticipated drama of the second half of this year, SBS' new Monday & Tuesday drama, 'Six Flying Dragons' has already begun filming the portions with child actors.
While the drama has started filming the portions starring child actors, 'Six Flying Dragons' has completed the cast for and main roles including Kim Myeong-min, Yoo Ah-in, Cheon Ho-jin, Byeon Yo-han, Sin Se-kyeong.
With its start date scheduled sometime in October this year, the drama has already kicked off production. Adult actors will begin to appear in the drama starting episode three to four majorly.
While most of dramas begin filming one month ahead of the start date, their early production four months ahead was possible thanks to the competent production team.
Writers Kim Yeong-hyeon and Park Sang-yeon of "Dae Jang Geum", 'Queen Seon-deok', and 'Deep-rooted Tree', which made a new era in Korean drama history work together again with producer Sin Kyeong-soo after the hit drama, 'Deep-rooted Tree'.
As it is a collaboration of the star writers and producer and the star-studded cast joined for the drama, it is anticipated to be the best drama in the second half of this year. To match the expectation, their early production aims to pursue perfection.
While 'Deep-rooted Tree' is a story about King Sejong, who reorganized the foundation of Joseon and stabilized the nation, 'Six Flying Dragons' depicts the stories surrounding the six historical figures with Lee Bang-won in the center during the last period of Goryeo right before Joseon was founded. It is anticipated that the political, heroic action period drama will deliver their thrilling success stories.
'Six Flying Dragons' will be aired after the completion of currently running "High Society" followed by 'Mrs. Cop'.

The new SBS drama "Six Flying Dragons" Byeon Yo-han underwent a change. "Six Flying Dragons" is slowly unveiling. The first teaser shows a peak at the incredible scale and footage of the drama and increases anticipation.

Lee Bang-ji, one of the six dragons played by Byeon Yo-han is standing alone at a cliff which looks intense. He's dressed like a warrior with a large sword in his hand. His hair is tied back into one and his face is covered with small scars and hair.

Byeon Yo-han's role of Lee Bang-ji is a protective warrior for Jeong Do-jeon (Kim Myeong-min) who is Boon-yi's (Sin Se-kyeong) brother.

Bang-ji gets involved with the history of Joseon and the picture of his face shows his sadness. This picture was taken at Hapcheon one day in August.

Still images of Sin Se-kyeong in her first filming session for 'Six Flying Dragons' have been revealed.

SBS's 25th anniversary special drama project, 'Six Flying Dragons' is a fiction history drama based on the ambition and success story by the six figures with Lee Bangwon in the center, who established the foundation of Joseon together.

The first episode is scheduled to air on October 5th. The production team, who led the success of 'Deep-rooted Tree' four years ago, is returning with this new period drama. Writers Kim Yeong-hyeon and Park Sang-yeon and producer Sin Kyeong-soo have joined together. Also actress Sin Se-kyeong, who showed off an exceptional screen presence in the drama, has joined the production team as well.

Sin Se-kyeong plays, Boon-yi, the only female character among the six dragons. Boon-yi is a fictional person of a bright and cheerful character, who stays absolutely positive all the time. Her humble clothes, messy hair, face smudged with dust can tell the desperate situation Sin Se-kyeong faces.

People are paying attention to how Sin Se-kyeong, who is well-known for wide acting spectrum from strong decisive character to vivacious and cheerful one, will portray her character 'Boon-yi'.

Kim & Park Dramatic Universe?

Park Sang Yeon : I want to disclose a secret right now. Six Flying Dragons (2015, SBS) is not only the prequel to Tree with Deep Roots (2011, SBS) but also the sequel to Queen Seondeok (2009, MBC), set in 700 years after Mishil's death, Queen Seondeok's death, and her nephew Kim Chun-chu's unification of the three kingdoms. It means our previous two sageuk Queen Seondeok (2009) and Tree with Deep Roots (2011) will be connected in Six Flying Dragons (2015). If you continue to watch SFD, you will get some "Oh, this is it!" kind of moments.  In my childhood memory, I sprang up from my seat when I was watching "Captain Harlock" surprisingly popping up in one of the episodes of "Galaxy Express 999". (* "Captain Harlock" and "Galaxy Express 999" are very famous Japanese TV animation series in the 1970s and 1980s. They are seperate works written by the same artist(Matsumoto Reiji), but sometimes they met each other in the shared universe.)  It was like today's Marvel cinematic universe films do. When my co-writer Kim Young Hyeon was a varitey show writer in the 1990s, she also tried this kind of overlapping format. It was really thrilling. I really wanted to try it.

Q. If your three sageuks shared the universe vertically, isn't it confusing to see one actor with 2 or 3 different characters of each timeline? For example, Shin Se-kyung was Princess Cheon Myoung in Queen Seondeok (2009)  and So Yi in Tree with Deep Roots (2011), and now she is Boon Yi inSix Flying Dragons (2015).

Park Sang Yeon : I know it is confusing to see one actor in 3 different timeline. I admit. But sometimes there are people who have a very similar appearance to another person despite they are not related. You know what I mean. (laughs)
