'How I Met Your Mother' scoop: Victoria isn't the only face returning this season...
It looks like Victoria and the Slutty Pumpkin aren’t the only blasts from How Met Your Mother‘s past that we’ll be seeing this season…
 EW has learned that Chris Elliott, Wayne Brady, Frances Conroy, and Bill Fagerbakke will be returning for the Oct. 24 episode, titled “Noretta.” Elliott will reprise his role as Lily’s estranged father, Mickey, while Conroy and Brady will reprise their roles as Barney’s mother and brother (just as I’d hoped!).
Most interestingly, Marshall’s deceased father, played by Fagerbakke, is also scheduled to appear in the episode — although it is not immediately clear in what capacity he will return.
This sounds like quite the family affair, readers! Theories/guesses on what brings them all together?

First look: Katie Holmes gets into her Halloween costume for racy role on 'How I Met Your Mother'

In her last foray into television Katie Holmes played sophisticated Jackie Kennedy in the Emmy-winning television miniseries The Kennedys. But for her latest project, Katie dresses in a Halloween costume complete with 'strategically cut-out holes' to play a character called Slutty Pumpkin on the hit CBS show, How I Met Your Mother. A first look at the 32-year-old in character sees the actress wearing a giant Jack-o-lantern with a revealing skin-tight dress underneath, to reunite with the show's main character Ted, played by Josh Radnor.

Katie plays elusive Halloween party guest Naomi, who Ted had fallen for in his early days. Diehard fans of the show will recall Ted’s search for her character throughout the sitcom’s first Halloween episode back in 2005. After hitting it off at a Halloween party years before, the pair exchanged numbers, but when Ted misplaces her digits written on a Kit-Kat wrapper, they lose touch. In the hope of running into her again, Ted attends the same party each year wearing the exact same costume, in the hope that they would be reunited.

And all of Ted's persistence pays off, when Katie's character finally turns up to the bash in, of course, her trademark attire. A thrilled Ted is seen proudly introducing her to his close friends Robin, played by Cobie Smulders, and Barney, played by Neil Patrick Harris.
Katie signed on to play the guest role on the hit show last month. The series' co-creator, Craig Thomas, said he was excited to cast Tom Cruise's wife as one of the show’s most legendary off-screen characters. 'Katie is a lovely and talented actress, which is why we’ve saved for her perhaps the most classily named character in our show’s history,' Thomas told New York Magazine. It isn't yet known whether the Don't Be Afraid of the Dark star will make multiple appearances on the show.
The hit series revolves around a man named Ted (played by Josh Radnor) telling his son and daughter how he, well, met their mother . The identity of the mother has not yet been revealed though the show is now in its seventh season, but it is unlikely that Katie, who was photographed running errands in Beverly Hills today, is 'the one.' Other stars on the hit series include Jason Segel and Alyson Hannigan.
Meanwhile Katie is currently spending time in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her five-year-old daughter Suri, while her husband Tom shots his new movie, One Shot.Earlier this week, The Mission Impossible star took his girls on a ride at Schenley Plaza.The trio all rode the merry-go-round, with Suri choosing a pig and a seal, Katie opting for an ostrich and dragon, while Tom picked the eagle and seahorse.
