It’s possible Siti didn’t even take the money, or if she did, she might have donated it to Palestine, as she has done before with concert profits.

Even if this explanation isn’t sufficient, let’s review Siti’s contributions to Palestine:
1. Made several original songs for Palestine since 2003 such as Oda Bumi Anbia & Suara Sepi.

2. Involved in and organized many Palestine solidarity events.

3. Founded her own NGO, Yayasan Nurjiwa, since 2006. Part of their main program is to give aids to the Palestinians.

4. Built a school in Palestine for Palestinian children in 2022.

5. Held charity concerts in 2009, 2014, & 2022, with profits sent to flood victims & Palestine. Also held a large concert at Axiata Arena in 2024 with 10k attendees, donating some profits directly to Palestinians.
6. During her 2024 Axiata concert, she dedicated a special segment which all the songs tribute to the Palestinians.

7. Frequently appeared at events in dresses inspired by Palestinian emblems or flags.

8. Made an endless posts and raised awareness about the Palestinian conflict every single day on her social media.

Imagine yourself being as active as she is with good and pure intentions and still being called a Zionist.

Some suggested she should make a provocative stunt during her performance, like talking about Palestine and then leaving the stage with mic drop. Siti is a world-class performer with poise and standards.

She hated it, she mad at it and she furious about what is going on with the Palestinians but she has her own way of fighting it. Who are we to compare our way of fighting with the others.

If we really turn this into a comparison, let’s compare our contributions with the 8 points that I just gave above. But NO! We shouldn’t do that cause everyone has a different fight.

Another perspective is the potential to change pro-Israel minds. They are not the IDF, just unaware of the reality. Increased awareness has already shifted many towards supporting Palestine.

For example, in the Olympics, instead of asking our athletes not to participate because the participation of the Israeli athletes, it’s wiser to petition against Israeli participation. Why should we be the one who needs to quit? We need the platform so we can spread the words.

Finally, if this still isn’t enough, consider this: From their perspective, DF’s followers might see that he respects Siti, who supports Palestine. Thus, it might appear that David Foster is working with pro-Palestinian figures like Siti, Afgan, & Rossa, not the other way around.

On the other hand, please take note that he came to Indonesia, a country that gives full support to Palestine. ☝????
