Thailand buys Chinese tablet computers for schools
AFP – Thu, May 10, 2012
Thailand on Thursday signed a multi-million dollar deal to buy hundreds of thousands of Chinese-made tablet computers for primary school children, an official statement said.
The ruling Puea Thai party, linked to former Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra, promised to issue free handheld computers to a million students as part of a raft of pledges that helped it to an election victory last year.
Other undertakings included a rise in the minimum wage and increased rice prices for farmers, and Puea Thai -- led by Thaksin's sister Yingluck Shinawatra -- has been accused by the opposition of populism.
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) minister Anudit Nakornthap inked a contract with Shenzhen Scope Scientific Development Co Ltd, one of four companies "suggested by the Chinese government".
"The first batch of 400,000 tablets, costing $32.8 million, will be delivered within 60 days," he said in statement, adding that a repeat order would not exceed one million machines. |

tablet china yg sama (yg baik) yg ada wifi & 3g nie kalau jual kat pasaran pun harga lebih kurang RM700...
nak untung banyak sangat...
moral nya di sini, kalau ada nama 1 malaysia mesti mahal...

Good tablet deal for students
PUTRAJAYA: Students will now be able to purchase Malaysia's very own mobile device or tablet, the 1Malaysia Pad (1Mpad), using their student discount cards.
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the 1Mpad would be made available to some 1.4 million students nationwide.
"The students can use their discount cards, which will be launched next month, to purchase the tablet.
"We will decide soon on the discount rate to be given to students who wish to buy the 1Mpad," said Ismail Sabri at the soft launch of the tablet, near here, yesterday.
Ismail Sabri said the 1Mpad would be the first gadget made available in the list of services and goods offered at a discount under the card.
"We are still in discussions to finalise the details of the offer," he said.
The 7-inch tablet, by MalTechPro Sdn Bhd, is aimed to provide mobile Internet accessibility to the public at a lower rate.
MalTechPro executive chairman Datuk Sohaimi Shahadan said the tablet design was to promote the country's mobile Internet take-up as well as bring benefits of the latest mobile technology to the people.
"The company will also customise applications to suit the needs of companies or organisations that are interested in buying the tablets."
The 1Malaysia Pad is currently available online, with 5000 units on sale for RM999.
The tablet operates using the Android Advance Smart Mobile Device and runs on the Android Gingerbread 2.3 operating system. |

company jadian ni aku rasa x kan bertahan lama...dalam 10 tahun ni aku dah tgk banyak company camni...semua hangat2 tahi ayam ajer...msia pernah ada PDA brand sendiri...projek komputer nasional...laptop jenama pc suria...laptop mampu milik brand jeane ker apa ntah tu yang x pernah muncul muncul pun...
kalau kerajaan betul nak rakyat msia lebih ramai memiliki gajet..turunkan ajer cukai dan laksanakan tranformasi terhadap harga produk IT supaya tidak mengikut mengikut perubahan dollar...bagi rebat...subsidi dan sebagainya... |

kalu kat malaysia buat benda yg sama (bagi free tablet kat budak skolah), yg sign perjanjian bukan gomen mesia dgn kilang china...tapi kompeni kroni gomen buat perjanjian dgn kilang china....rakyat tetap dpt free tapi syarikat kroni caj gomen kaw2 utk benda tak seberapa  |

Yang macam ni biasanya company untuk buat duit segera. Bila dah dapat jual berapa ribu unit yang dia dah pakat2 ngan mana2 pihak, dia pun senyap2 berkubur. Yang penting masyuuukkkk. |
