Lost actor Harold Perrineau has criticised the show's bosses over the short-lived return of his character Michael Dawson.
"I'm disappointed, mostly because I wanted Michael and [his son] Walt to have a happy ending," he told TV Guide, speaking about the explosive demise of Michael in the fourth season finale. "If I were writing it, I would write it differently."
"I thought it was disappointing and a waste to come back, only to get beat up a few times and then killed. I felt like it was sort of pandering to some fans who wanted to see Michael punished because he betrayed people."
Perrineau, who also stated that he would make more appearances if the storyline was to his liking, added that he was shocked to discover Michael was being killed off: "I had no idea. It's like, what the hell? I came back for that?"
Lost star Michael Emerson has revealed his sadness over the shock execution of his character Ben Linus's daughter Alex in the show.
Speaking to Ain't It Cool, Emerson said: "It was sweetly played by Tania Raymonde and I will miss her so much. Quite afar from us having a fictional relationship, I also just like her very much as a person and have loved working with her... I do feel a fatherly sadness at her going away and not continuing to be on the show."
Alex was shot in the head at point blank range by a mercenary in recent episode 'The Shape Of Things To Come', following her father Ben's refusal to surrender.
Emerson added: "It was shocking and for Ben... clearly something went very wrong and against every expectation in that moment and now he has sort of been shattered in a way." |
