Once Upon A Time Season 3 - Season Premiere on 29 September 2013, Sunday

The first eleven episodes will be set primarily in Neverland; co-creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis spoke about the setting of the third season stating, "Neverland is a land of belief, a land of imagination, and a land where all our main characters are being stripped down to their core. It’s really allowing us, as writers, to dig deep into who they are and to push them forward to new places. I think being in Neverland is going to have a profound effect on each of the characters. It’s really fun to see these characters and dig deep this year and explore what it’s like for Emma to [be with] her parents. Neverland is really a place where we can sit down and think about that."The two also noted that Peter Pan will feature in the season but will be a more "complicated" version of the character, with Kitsis saying, "We have not yet met Peter Pan and we have not yet seen Neverland, and that is where we're going!"In a further interview, Horowitz stated, "Well for us, Neverland is kind of a place that makes you confront your past. It's sort of the heart of darkness and to be a 200 year-old person, you know because you don't grow up there, you have to keep yourself amused. However long Peter Pan has been there and for whatever reason he has been there, we intend to reveal our take on that and on the legend of Peter Pan. We have a way that it intertwines with our Once Upon a Time mythology that we're really excited to unveil."At Disney's D23 Expo event, the creators teased romantic sparks between Emma Swan and Captain Hook, and insight into how Hook became a pirate.

Gold talks about potentially fighting Peter Pan, and is very frank about the fact that he’ll probably lose if they ever come face to face.

But he promises the Lost Boy that he’ll take as many of them as he can down with him. That’s certainly an ominous start to the season!

In Once Upon a Time season 3, we’ll follow Gold, Emma (Jennifer Morrison), Snow (Ginny Goodwin), Charming (Josh Dallas), Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) as they try to rescue Henry (Jared Gilmore) from Peter Pan.

Once Upon a Time Season 3 kicks off with a trip to Neverland, but the premiere won’t be just about who is racing there aboard the Jolly Roger. According to the official synopsis for Season 3, Episode 1: “Heart of the Truest Believer,” things are going to go south quickly as multiple people’s fates are revealed.

Read on for all the details:

“As Emma, Mary Margaret, David, Regina, Mr. Gold and Hook enter Neverland to search for a kidnapped Henry, they're greeted by a school of not-too-friendly mermaids who threaten to end their search before it begins; Henry finds himself on the run from the Lost Boys with another escapee from Peter Pan's encampment; and Neal, recovering from his wounds, travels through the Enchanted Forest with Mulan in an attempt to learn the fates of Emma and Henry.”

Whoa, so Henry escapes? That is a little soon, but we’re not complaining. However, we didn’t expect to see any mermaids until Episode 6 when Ariel appears. Could the Little Mermaid be not-so-friendly, too? So far, we know that she’s anadventurous and romantic spitfire, but we haven’t learned her true intentions. Looks like OUATmay be putting a new twist on yet another fairy tale!

As for Neal, we’re excited to learn that Mulan will definitely be helping him. Will she be reunited with everyone in Neverland, or will Aurora perhaps connect with Charming to reveal Neal’s fate? The possibilities are endless.
