JOHOR BARU: A 43-year-old woman, whose pictures selling tissues at eateries here went viral on the social media recently, has been revealed to be a holder of a valid 'Persons With Disability' (OKU) card. Johor Baru Social Welfare Department officer Manayi Ibrahim said the woman came to her office at 10am yesterday with two of her five children to explain the confusion and express disappoinment of the incident. Mahayi said the woman's right eye was completely blind while the left eye could only detect bright colours. "During the meeting, they espressed her disappointment with the spread of the photograph and video on social media," she said in a statement. Manayi said the department has also advised the woman to look for a suitable job and renew her outdated OKU card. Commenting on the video of the woman depositing some RM14,000 at a bank counter here, Manayi said the woman informed the department that the money belonged to her fellow blind tissue sellers who had handed her the cash to be deposited. - BERNAMA © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
